This guy was trying to make his point out loud. I was lucky enuf to be within distance and hurried my camera towards him. It was a lucky shot I guess....coz I just aim blindly while running towards him. This shot was taken as it is...uncropped only sharpened. ;)

Thanks Orion for the comments and suggestions on the posting and the sharpening thing. Still trying to get into the groove. All this photoshop jargon's still new to me. But will quickly learn....in fact I'm buying a book tomorrow.

Hehe..good for you, and i still haven't bought mine yet. How did you sharpen your images? What setting?

Try USM with this setting for now:

"After resizing for web it's recommended to run Unsharp mask at 150% 0.3 pixels 0 threshold to account for loss of sharpness by downsizing (Filter - Sharpen - Unsharp Mask)."

This is the same guy whose pic I posted earlier. He was loitering around the mercedes stand while waiting for his friend. He's quite a colorful character this guy is. Shot blind while standing....uncropped, taken as it is. But one fishy thing was that he too wanted my phone number as well. I'm confused.:run_away:

My method is to Smart Sharpen at 50-100% and pixel 0.2 - 0.6 (depending on situation). :)

I think my problem was before it was reduced in size...it was already too sharp. And when I did the unsharp mask....i overdid the threshold & not 0% as suggested. But anyway thanks to both of u for the tips. Definitely will try both styles....and show u the results again for u to CC.

It's ok...for the last pics my points would be:

1) Better lock manual exposure for the sky so it's not blown, use flash to fill subject to get balanced exposure
2) You shouldn't chop the top side of the flag, you do have some space at the bottom/right to balance the composition
3) Should wait until the man with backpack behind is out of the way or change your angle to exclude him
4) Flash is a little harsh, need some better diffusion
5) Colour is over-saturated, I think the red channel is blown

Should have bought the sigma 10-20mm and get better coverage. I'm shooting blind....that was my hand guessing the angle....Just bought the book you poisoned today..ooops recommended...will try out to balance the red...and show you later. Have to tell myself be more patient with taking pictures. FYI almost bought the sigma just now...however below are the sample pic of the tokina I tried. Asked Kent of direct to order me the Sigma. How's the sharpening and the red now?
