Strobist Meetup Outdoor Photoshoot

For those who know their way around the strobist method; here's something in store for you. I'm planning a photoshoot only strobist style for outdoor lighting enthusiast. Pls pre-register yourself if you are interested.

Details :-
Date & Time & Location : To be determined later, will be most likely within klang valley within the coming weekends.
Payment : A minimal fee will be expected for payment to model
Gears : at least have your own flashgun. lightstands is appreciated too.

I'm starting this thread to gauge response.

This is not a workshop (which I usually organize) but more of a photoshoot session by using the strobist style.

hrmm to be honest,
i dun intend to teach as how i do in normal strobist workshops
my initial idea is just to have fun with fellow strobist and enjoy shooting
and probly sharing new lighting ideas etc.

i mean of course non strobist join. theres no segregation here.
but the different approach to natural lighting and strobist will require diff setups. thus
having natural light shooters will hinder strobist shooters and vice versa.

ill give an example:
natural light shooters normally would want the light frm sun to fall on models face.
strobist wouldnt mind if the sun is behind model and this would be an advantage.

I'm using Nikon CLS with 3 flash and 2 lightstands.
R u guys talking only abt using 3rd party flash triggered via optical slave/wireless rather than dedicated brand flashes ?
would just like to practice multiple flash shooting as much as possible regardless of whether its dedicated brand or mix 3rd party flash..to me that's not impt.

actually, as long as u have ur own setup, u r all ready set to go on.
i was hoping to get peeps who need not depend on other people's setup.

model is tentatively confirmed. she's been a familiar face in our threads for the past couple of weeks. and i've got a green light and good to go for a bikini themed shoot. need a suitable location for this. any suggestions?

this is going to be a big bang of strobist get-together shootout.
u just make a checklist of equipments that photog might be bringing. the amount of flash/lighting can be like a supernova... Hehehehe...

I'm sure other photog would be able to bring some models as well...

OK Lemme just try list this down on the must haves in order to join.
I'm posting this in order for strobist enthusiast to be not distracted by other participants who might loan equipments (unless you can find someone who can share his/her stuff with you). So, sorry yeah.

1. Lightstand (or some method where you can let the flash stand on its own)
2. Flashgun
3. Umbrella (optional)
4. Method to trigger off-cam flash (may be radio trigger, IR, optical or even cable - its entirely up to you on what you have)
5. DSLR Camera, or any camera with hotshoe.

Like Keong said, we all can expect this is gonna be like a supernova on all the flash triggering :P Hopefully model wont be blinded.
