My first photo post in this forum. Last year i went for a few months backpacking, i had a chance to cross india from nepal via train/buses.
Despite the stupid bureaucracy, conmans, pesky touts, daylight robbery, human feces everywhere and more than 50 celcious heat ,india is seriously a good place for photography. maybe someday i'll return and do a full india backpack. here are some photos to share.
1. Varanasi & ghats in ganga river. basically they burn the dead and drinks from the same river

Thanks for sharing. It's a must visit country, but it's so big and a proper planning is really necessary.

thanks everyone
nordin: true , they are big and over populated too. there are very frequent blackout too. most of the traders there don't even have enough loose change. so i have to buy small things in bulk.
joyce: :P i actually drink water from ganga river. i like street foods. many people had issues except me. i guess i'm pretty much immune already. lol
noruazumi: umnnn ..
1. do not trust whatever the locals say there. get a good guidebook and always believe in the guide
2. always show that you are the boss *sorry to say caste system is still deeply ingrained there
3. heard airasia will have cheap flights there soon. book early

can't agree more!
The negatives that u mentioned kind of spoiled my recent trip to india.
Great shot of the Taj you've got...how did you manage to get shots without the hordes of tourist in them?

thanks klguy
AhMah yeah . i find it hard to shoot taj with the inflexible entrance rules.basically if u paid the ticket and entered , u have to pay another ticket if u exit and enter back , say for breakfast or dinner. photographers need timing for sunrise and sunset. i shot think near 7pm at the back of taj, yamuna river. i guess that place is not a favorite for tourist.

You are such a lucky guy having the chance to backpack for few months in India. Nice series, not many have the chances to see what you had there.
