summer day in kuantan..least rain during tht period. and most importantly...it is after 10th May 2008 (pointing finger at Freaky :D) ...

for now, is:

saturday arrive kuantan, meet up with qqmeng in the morning.

adjourn to buying BBQ stuff (split the cost) after lunch. then head straight to sg lembing...the hometown of one of our senior member here --> yannick :)

evening...explore the world largest underground mining town.

night time...beer time, bbq time...whatever... lol

sunday we go gunung tapis park....full day trip. lots of leeches and insect. be prepared.

and back to kl after the trip... to some, it may be very tiring. so my advise is to stay a day in ktn.

ok, i understand most ppl here may hv problem applying for leave.

so here s the plan.

31 may s saturday. so we all go hiking to rainbow waterfall only on sunday.
so tht u guys can come on saturday.

saturday mornign arrive ktn, then u can either spend a night in ktn or in sg lembing.

they hv bangalow to let in sg lembing at a cheap price. and u can BBQ/beer there. so next morning u dun hv to be too rush.

1 Jun. we masuk the jungle early in the morning. like 5am to 5.30am. i ll try to arrange to depart earlier with the guide so we can shoot the sun rise and to make sure we can make it to the waterfall in time.

hopefully we can get back to sg lembing for lunch. and thts it.

for those who feels too tired to drive back to kl immediately after the hiking can rest/sleep in the bangalow then balik kl after dinner. now with the highway, it is safe to drive at night.

worst case scenario, spend another extra night in kuantan going back to kl on monday.


this is not a package tour, so we can plan and do whatever we feel like and hopefully yannick will be joining us as tht his hometown, and maybe he ll bring us go makan at good place :D

I would rather wear shorts so I can see 'em climbing up my legs instead. Wearing long pants or tucking your pants into socks will not help. The leeches can still go through :P

i ll double confirm on that. but if not mistaken it should be less than RM100.00 for both the lodging and the day trip to the waterfall.

as for food, we can tah pao ourself hahaha.... but anyway, we are planning to hv BBQ tht nite. we ll do the shopping in kuantan and we ll share the cost out. but of course, it is ok if you don't wish to join in the BBQ.

definitely you ll get wet... bottom half of your body, depending on the water level. worst case, ll be up till your waist.

1st part of the hiking was ok. 2nd part is a lil bit slippery as you hv to climb those river rocks tht covered by algae.

since you have been there, how many ppl can the place (either the waterfall with the rainbow or the hill climb for the sunrise) accomodate for us to be able to move around comfortably to take pics, including setting up tripods, etc?
Would love to go but if this trip is already full, then I'll wait for the next one..

thts not a private waterfall i cant stop ppl from going, even if our grp has very min ppl going :(

but for bout 20-30 ppl shouldnt be any problem... there s few spot of the waterfall many of the goer wont go so u can set up your stuff there... but as you know once there re outsider... i cant guarantee anything. they might be swimming and stuff like tht.

and i cant guarantee the best lighting as well... u know well, there re lots of things tht re beyond our control shooting landscape.

i would say, give this time a try regardless of how many people going. know the place by seeing it yourself 1st. then if u really like it..then plan for a second trip..as its not very far from KL.... a weekend will do.

ok...has received msg from yannick tht the bangalow in sg lembing he mentioned is fully booked, he is trying other bungalow.

if everything fail... then i would try to book a sea view condo in kuantan for you. the sea view condo has 2-3 rooms ...ranging from RM150 to RM300. those on budget can always sleep on the living room. then we just split the costs up.

if you guys don't mind sleeping in the living room, one condo can fit in like 10 heck even 15 ppl.

you can even sleep/rest at the pool side listening to the sea waves and count stars.

and of course we can BBQ there too.

ok, i ll give another few more days for yannick. if by next wednesday we still hv no news on tht... tembeling resort (the sea view condo) is where we are heading. ;)
