From my observation, I noticed the post count is not increasing although I saw some member created lots of posting. Is the counter system not in full operation or is it because of filtering done by Guardian?
BTW, I realised I have been observing too much lately. :? Maybe work stress after seeing too much numbers everyday!!!

If you read the other threads you'll see post count is only in use for certain sections.
Those sections which are not relevant and off-topic from the forum will not increase your post count!

I sometimes feel spams should not even be counted as a post count. such are replies like "nice pic." - then end of post. its a bit lame no?

Eeerrkkk!
We can't pay a simple compliment and leave it at that?
Need to always be so technical or function as dissector?
Can, can :D :fishing: :D

Darn, and here I was thinking that I'd just start posting, "Nice thread!" and increase my count...:D
Seriously, I quite like the idea of not having your count increase for posting in certain parts of the forum. However, some people may not view so kindly on this as it doesn't 'reward' them for participating in the forum in non-photographic topics....just my 3 cents.

I don't believe a) people should look at post count or rank and reward and b) if they do they should be rewarded for off-topic posts ;)
If you want to leave a simple compliment you can, just let them know WHY you like the picture..
"That's nice" doesn't really help anyone!

True also...
But I prefer it if ppl are willing to :whipped: me more....need to improve my (lack of) skills...getting too lazy to shoot sometimes.

I think we should really look into rewards as in obtaining a medal for the challenge areas rather than having a title "shutter xxx" as being a pro.
Comments such as "nice pic" sure sounds nice. doesnt help anyone true - but it doesnt hurt, but such comments with an intention to harvest post count is simply - lame. Then again, how are we gonna make sure it doesnt happen, or happens for pure commenting purpose?

I agree with Jayhan. My neck becomes longer and longer as waiting the starting of the Challenge forum.
