One of my colleage said he can process HDR in his CS2. Since i;m not good enough in photoshop..i tried it and failed. The problem is when i try to merge all the images... this is the result : THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DYNAMIC RANGE IN THESE PHOTOS TO CONSTRUCT A USEFUL HDR IMAGE.

please anybody out there help me solve this problem. Thank you so much.

It would be helpful if you included a copy of the HDR image which you have generated. There are 3 methods to obtain HDR images

1) The RIGHT method is done by using 3 or more images 6 is ideal with different exposure brackets e.g. -1ev 0ev 1ev. Please use a tripod while doing this and avoid objects with motion. Please look up exposure bracketing for your camera. Please use aperture priority when doing this.

ST will cringe when he sees the options below

2) Second option which is cheating done by generating from a single RAW or NEF file. You can either create multiple ev values and save in .jpg or you can use sofwares like Photomatix (www.hdrsoft.com) to do it.

3) The last option is also cheating for people like me which sometimes forget to switch to RAW format and too lazy to use the tripod would use (http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/fakehdr.html) this would produce from a single jpg an image similar to this:

Good luck in your quest for HDR!

CS2 does not allow you to generate HDR from only a single RAW file, as CS2 actually checks your exif when doing some calculations. You have to edit your exif if you insist on using only a single RAW file to generate 3 different exposures.

I'm not too sure about CS3 though.

Heh yah correct, Photoshop will not allow the second method..it will say not enough dynamic range as it knows they are from the same shot.

You actually have to bracket.

It's not so mafan with Photomatix, you can just drop the NEF/RAW file straight it and it will create the exposures itself.

It's a bit complicated (there are some softwares), so, I would suggest you to choose Photomatix instead.

The best is still to take 3 to 5 different exposures of RAW files. :)

open raw file and modify exposures.then save for web for each pic with different exposures (make it 0,+1.5,-1.5 for example..) .this will rip off the exif and fotoshop will try to merge them to HDR.not practical but it works.tested in cs2.

Very mafan just get the new Photomatix, dump the RAW file straight in, it will demosiac it and create the HDR.

Photmatix HDR > Photoshop HDR anyway.

There's no watermark after you pay for it :)
