:P not the D3 style, but the FE style.
Coming from DSLR (canon somemore), I'm so spoiled with loading and unloading CF Cards that I totally don't even know how to reload a film :p
Anyway, this is an old machine and needs to be sent for servicing, but temptation to play with it first is so great.
Has aperture priority mode, which well makes my Flim SLR life easier, with this cool needle indicator in the viewfinder showing its shutter speed. The VF is a little clouded but I guess thats due to pro-longed storage. Hope to get that replaced.
This is so exciting. Can't wait to run to peninsular plaza tomorrow to get a Canon - Nikon mount adapter, so that I can use my 135mm on it :p
Oh my, I hope I didn't put anyone of you to sleep with my excitement. Here are some pictures, heheheh wonder if I can polish this baby to make it shine

congrats on your new toy. even with the 50mm, it looks kinda wide, and you forgot to mention about the BIG viewfinder.
and also, the focus screen rocks. who needs a D3 when you have a F series camera? :D

This camera will rest with my Canon 135L. heheh the 50mm was just a temporary measure.

Thanks !, the VF needs to be replaced. Its all foggy, but Dang!! its BIG

It is not big. It is just your DSLR VF is small. :P
Wait till you pick up a pro film body like F3 or F4. Then you will really :tongue_roll:
BTW, the VF is not likely in need of replacement. Most instants, all it needs is a good cleanup/service. You might even be able to do it yourself with a cotton bud if the fogging is on the outside elements.

Thanks Alan, I would try to do some external cleaning. Pro Film Body.. hmm... No thanks, I will lean back to DSLR. Felt so silly yesterday, when I took a few snap shots, and automatically i looked at the camera body, searching for my histrogram readings :p

I am not sure if you can find an adapter which allows u to use Canon lenses on an old (AIS) Nikon.
Adapter to use Nikon lenses on Canon bodies is possible.

Hmm thats about the price if I get it washed at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara. :P Usually should be cheaper if I get it done in KL.haha.
btw,can the AFD 50mm autofocus with the FE? I'm still not sure what lens can and cant AF with the FE.

I thought so too at first. But then my dad told me that there already was AF lenses in his time just that he didn't buy them. So I was wondering if AF/AF-D/AF-S lenses are able to AF on the FE. Still confused about that. Thats why I asked you since you're using the 50mm AFD on the FE. lol

The FE is a manual body so you cannot AF with it no matter what lens you use. You have to focus yourself.

Erm.newbie in film here but I was wondering, you can change lenses on a film SLR when its loaded just like a dSLR right? Cause my friend told me that if you do so,it will expose the film and will be ruined. :? is this true? Thanks!

Yes. You can change lenses with film loaded in the SLR. You will not expose the film.

Nop, there is no such adpater from Canon Lens to Nikon body, as Nikon Systems has the shortest lens to film distance of all the cameras, hence, others lenses are not able to be used on Nikon Lens.
Nice...i hope you don't plan to shoot macro with it..unless you can afford the wastage :D:run_away:
I have to agree with that, but on top of the wastage, you get the sense of achivement when you get a nice picture out of a thousand, and the thrill of waiting for the outcome of photo. Compare to digital camera, I find that no thrill at all.
I thought so too at first. But then my dad told me that there already was AF lenses in his time just that he didn't buy them. So I was wondering if AF/AF-D/AF-S lenses are able to AF on the FE. Still confused about that. Thats why I asked you since you're using the 50mm AFD on the FE. lol

Yup, FE is a manual body, however, you can use a wide range of lens, from manual, AF, AFD. I am not sure about AFS. Just that you are unable to use the AF Features. Everything is manual, from focusing to aperture and shutter speed. The Lens that you cannot use are the "G" lens, which do not have aperture control on the lens.
Have Fun on your FE, it is a good camera, and the processing and printing of the film is around that price in Singapore. Lesser and Lesser shops are developing film now. If possible, try to take slide, once started to use slide, you will be reluctant to use Negative again.
