Besides the obvious such as focal lenghts, appreciate your feedback on the both lens. All torn up in deciding which to get. Have to get either by this wekend.

Both lens are about the same... good for street photography. The difference between them is:

18-200:

If you don have your kit lens, this should be a very good all-in-one lens.
Quite heavy for a short (physically) lens.
AF is fast (judging that I am a current owner of this lens).

55-200:

It is about the same as above and recommended to get this if you still wan to keep ur kit lens.
Cheaper than 18-200.
AF speed is as fast.

Well, personally, I prefer the 18-200 though u have to pay addictional simply because I am lazy to change lens when half way shooting... Its more convenient with the 18-200 :)

If you already have the 18-55 kit lens and cost is a factor, by all means go for the 55-200 VR.

If carrying and changing lenses is a hassle for you, get the 18-200 VR. Great all-round lens for general use.

If you want better optics, get the 70-300 VR. Pros and serious hobbyists will skip this one and go for the 70-200 f/2.8 VR.

Hope that helps!

TQ all for the valuable insights and advice. Went for broke (& broke the bank along the way) and now poisoned with the 18-200mm. Now to find the antidote, should I unload the arsenal I’ve in hand? :-
AF70-300 f/4-5.6G (bought 120406)
AF-S DX 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 Kit (bought 100207)
AF 50 f/1.4 Non-D (used, bought 090507)

Till a decision has been reached (aka when the statement arrives), Mods, kindly close thread.
