Guys,
I am using 580EX II now with ST-E2 speedlite transmitter. I did some strobist style shooting few month back using only 580EX and 430ex(borrowed from my cousin). Now I consider getting two more flash for my creative flash photography. Initially I thought of getting two 430EX or 580EX but the cost is hefty. Judging from my past interest in photography, I don't really have time to shoot a lot. Maybe once in a month. I reconsider, 430ex and 580ex worth invest or not cause I won't be using 3 flash all the time. I was thinking of getting 3rd party Nissin flash that can be triggered by ST-E2 OR get two cheap Sunpak Flash with optical flash trigger.

I need some input and suggestion. I have breakdown the cost of owning 580ex, 430ex and some 3rd party flash as below:
2x580exII = RM3200 (RM1600 each)
2x430ex = RM2200 (RM1100 each)
2xNissin Flash= RM1000 (RM500 each)
2xSunpak Flash=RM800(RM400 each include optical trigger)

My concern getting a 3rd party flash gun is the ability to fire the same white balance as 580EX II.

These are taken with 430ex and 580ex with a reflector. I feel that 2 flash gun is not enough to light up the scene

My Nissin Flash can not trigger by ST-E2 but able to trigger by 580II

do we need to do special setting when we use Nissin Flash ?

Nissin can trigger by ST-E2 but then the sync speed is very very slow like 7 to 9 sec after the shutter was press (indoor only, outdoor totally cannot at all .............)

for Nissin Canon mount, SB-800 can trigger it as well when it is set to slave mode.

myself have bought 2 unit Nissin flash and 1 580EX, for indoor, you mount 580EX at the camera body and set the 2 Nissin to slave mode, u can shoot already ............ but the setting cant work outdoor as what i suspect is that the space is too wide and it cant sync with each other ........ till now i still finding solution such as remote trigger/wireless trigger for nissin so that i can play with outdoor strobe ...........
