~ image - adjustment - photo filter, selective color, hue/saturation, brightness/contrast

thanx.. i'm really sorry as all my editing work was trial & error methods.. i would love to share but i really can't recall how i did the above pix.. but most of the time.. when the photo is too yellowish i will used the cooling filter to tone down the yellow then adjust the brightness
i'm also still learning PS & been practising quite a number over here recently.. especially this week :D :D
tips.. for newbie using PS my advise is.. duplicate a layer.. work on layer by layer.. eg. 1st layer adjust the color until u satisfied then duplicated the layer to adjust the brightness then another if needed
my way of editing might be wrong.. but this is how i do.. i'm just a self learner.. i hope this help
oh.. i am not a good writer.. i hope u can understand what written above :)
This is my try! Trial and error ...

1. Color Balance
2. Hue/Saturation
3. Duplicate the layer, desaturate it and change layer mode to Screen.
4. Adjust the curves of the desaturated layer to get a low-key/dark image.
5. Add a layer mask to the desaturated layer, and mask out the background.
6. Merge colour and desaturated layers together, adjust the levels and apply USM.
I used GIMP therefore I didn't give the exact values I used and I hope my "general" explanations will help.
