the D700's Virtual Horizon in Live View is gonna help a lot in landscapes...
from Jim Reed's gallery the pics at ISO 800 looks rather clean but at that size its hard to tell

very nice shots....amazing! D700 seems to have a very wide dynamic range...maybe its his photos...
