Hi guys .. i'm in a deep trouble .. hope someone has experience with the Panasonic DMC LX2 can help me out ... i was advising my fren to shoot raw ( he went on a nice holiday ) just incase anything screws up, I can help fix it in PS ... but only now i notice .. PNS's RAW might be different with DSLR'S RAW ? ( he's already in holiday now =.=" ) ...

Question is .. can the LX2's raw be recognized with PS CS3 ? I'll be so fxcked if it can't ..

I have a LX2 but never shoot RAW. But I believe CS3 can process RAW images from the LX2, as per following link:

More good news for you:

"Opinion
The LX2 is in some ways a unique camera. Its panoramic format and 28mm equivalent lens gives a lot of opportunity to be creative with high impact landscapes and its very useful for getting in those extra wide pictures. It also has quite a few tricky elements to it, and some drawbacks, so it’s a balancing act.

I wouldn’t recommend it as a leave-on-auto point-and-shoot camera. Canons and Sonys are usually far better at that. If you leave the LX2 on auto and default settings, it will give you noisy jpegs, is prone to image blur from poor focus in low light, and has a slow weak flash.

Turn to Program AE, limit the ISO to 100 or 200 and things get better. Change the focus to spot or centre weighted and they are better still. Shoot raw, in good light at 100ASA on Aperture Priority mode and you will get a great 16:9 landscape (tripod preferred). Colours are rich, and the raw pics can be processed in Photoshop CS3 or the very good freebie Silkypics software. You have several useful features for the experienced: Flash level and mode, metering and AF modes, Shutter, Aperture Piority, Bracketing exposure, Movie and more. Good power save modes extend the battery life – but you’ll still need to carry a spare. You can work around the noise issue if you have good light."
