Macro....yeah...Cameron it's the best place for me to take macro. First of all, the cool weather is the best one could ask for when shooting macro...hehe at least for me. Next would be the diverse colorful flowers it has but sad to say, not many flowers i have taken.

The duck soup looks 'very very dark'? The dawn one gets my vote. Very nice series!

Lovely shots, deric! I really like the candid shots of your daughter, she's so cute :). And the flower shots, too! The dawn pic takes the crown :D

I'm also thinking of a getaway to cameron. Would really appreciate if you could share some of the interesting places you went. And those flower shots, where were they taken?

Indeed the duck soup looks very dark dark....and plus the dark brown stain on the inner pot probably due to many times the pot was used to contain the soup and steam for million times...hehe. Chow thanks for the comment :)

Blur, thanks for the kind comments.

Basically, Cameron is nice place for ah sum-ah sum (auntie-auntie) hehehe...which likes to shop for fresh veggies direct from the farm in Cameron. The veggies provides a good steamboat ingredients and what more could you ask for on a delighting steamboat meal in cold weather.....yat lao! :D The markets are all over the place in Cameron. Apart from the markets would be the bee farms, strawberry farms, butterfly farms and the tea plantations like the Sg. Pallas Boh Plantation (The road to the Boh plantation is rather narrow....really really narrow and winded). I took most of my butterfly and flower shots in the butterfly farm. The butterfly farm is located near Equatorial Hotel in Kea Farm which has the most busiest market in Cameron - finding parking space is difficult if you wish to shop in Kea Farm's market and the road may be jammed too due to loads of cars there.

In the evening, you might wanna stop by Brinchang town for a cool steamboat meal provided by many restaurant there. If you still could not satisfy your crave to shop, you might wanna stroll along the night market in Brinchang which offers Pasar Malam setup with a twist of cooler environment. There you could try to use your widest aperture prime lens and do some street shooting in the night market which is kind of interesting at least to me.

On the way back or on the way there, assuming you will be using the Simpang Pulai route, you could probably stop by the strawberry farm cum hydroponic farm near the Blue Valley Tea Plantation. I can't remember the name of the place but it does offer some processed strawberry products and you get to shoot in the hydroponic farm like the ones i taken of my family above.

I hope i have given you a rough idea on where to visit in Cameron during your trip there. Enjoy your trip :)

LOL...! Love the before & after takes of the makan :D

blur,
There are night market vendors selling fresh strawberry sticks dipped in honey.
The day market offers really good deals and fresh veg - the cauliflower we bought stayed fresh more than week, no spots.
You'll also find the honey product vendor there and you can shoot the combs in his pushcart. Oh, and they have purple cauliflowers and broccoli too.

There are a number of strawberry farms dotting the place, and you can pop into any one, some even offer the opportunity to pick fresh strawberries, after paying a nominal sum.

When you leave, you'll notice lily fields, farmed for their fresh buds (kum cham).

Near the OMF bungalow is a sort of school/hostel with fields, greenery, trees and a fish pond, and lotsa moss - plenty of photography to be done :D We didn't have time to wander and potter around much - do NOT miss the tea plantation :D

Was there too but left on Sat morning. I wouldn't go there on a weekend anymore especially during school holidays. There was once where I was stuck for more than 2 hours going up from Simpang Pulai.

Sungai Palas is definitely the place to go. Anyway, lovely set DK.
