Bon Odori - KLGuy's take

Went with Mr and Mrs Macropixman to the Bon Odori Festival in Shah Alam. Had a fairly good time shot the public esp the kimono clad girls and some anime characters. As Macropixman says, the lighting condition on the main stage was horrible - floodlights from 4 corners of the stadium combined with some video lights on the stage itself makes for mixed lighting.

And what's worse are thos in-considerate media photogs who were all over the stage, some even chimping there for hours!!!

Got so fed up being blocked by thos media photogs, and the flare from the stadium floodlights, I decided to shot the dancers just below the main stage. Switched to the 50mm and went right next to the dancers....

09 This lady and the one in pink were very friendly and would step out of line to enable me to shoot them without being blocked by the girls in front of them.
