My ZX81!!!!

Type : Home computer
Release date : 1981
Discontinued : 1984.
Operating system : Sinclair BASIC
CPU Z80 at 3.25 MHz (most machines used the NEC µPD780C-1 equivalent)
Memory :1 KB (64 KB max. 56 KB useable)

The Sinclair ZX81 home computer, released by Sinclair Research (UK) in 1981, was the follow up to the company's ZX80. The case was black, with a membrane keyboard.

Now it was gone with the wind...but I have the 2nd generation ZX..it's called a ZX Spectrum, hehe..I got it in my flickrs if you wish to see :cool:

I was too small to remember exactly what the specs were...

But I do remember that the first computer was definitely from Pineapple computers...using 5 1/4" floppies with dual drives bought in 1989/90.

You had to load Dos to subsequently load the games. I remember that I played Frogger, Digger and Tetris with it. Haha!

Believe it or not, the comp was used up til 1997!

my very first computer was a "HYUNDAI" brand system with 80286 processor(around late 80's to early 90's)
soundblaster was still new and soundcard was optional.
there's no RAM stick to upgrade, only MEMORY CHIP upgrade.. each chip contain few KB of memory.

Muahahaha..Noordin, if you are commenting on the ZX81..it was not connected to a CRT monitor, just a TV set!:P

I had a Atari 2600 back when I was 4.... and I can still remember Combat that comes with it.... There is also "River Raid" which I enjoy very much.

Then I switched to NES, SNES with Wildcard diskette drive, PC 486, PC Pentium II, Dreamcast, AMD Athlon, and now Intel QuadCore....

I have migrated to PC a long long time ago and no longer interested in console games...

Eh? Just came across this thread.

My first PC was also a Sinclair ZX81 with the 16K memory pack.

Also played with a friend's Atari once or twice. Had a 300 baud modem which we tried logging on to BBS with.... :0

Then didn't have another computer till much later, a clone PC XT with dual floppies, 256K memory, and green monitor.

Now, still getting by with Pentium III only...:(

My first games console is Atari 2600.

Last spring cleaning I found a catridge unit (Space Invaders) in one of those cabinet. I wonder how much this can be sold at the "Want To Sell" section?? :worship:

Yep. Even kept the cassettes of some ZX81 programs that I bought for a very long time. Don't know if I still have them or already chucked them away...

Even the green monitor for the XT still working and with me.
