Yes I got it yesterday. Only manage to test it briefly. Features and buttons are excellent except the power button. Kinda weird to switch it on. Overall, it's a excellent flash.

Lots of stocks in Singapore even in small photo stores..
Had to transit in Singapore last week on way elsewhere and had 1 day to kill.
Went to Sim Lim/Funan and saw D700/SB900 in every photo shop there.
Guess they thought I couldnt afford it so all I got was a quick quote on the price. Didnt get to take a look at it.
SGD 3,800 for D700..price can still be negotiated...
I got the SB 900 yesterday. Today my friend with a D300 tested it out. Insane. That's what he said. He try burst mode at low power or something. He just jam his finger on his camera's button and shot away. His camera ran out of buffer, yet the SB 900 still can go. At full power, it can take about 5-7 shots.
That's all he tested so far, since we had to catch a movie, had to stop at that.

I own it after 1 month Nikon launch this camera and flash.
No regret by jump ship from Canon.............

Hi there.
SB900 insane??..... AGREED!.. ahahaha.... :cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:
I'm still trying to familiarise myself with the never ending customizable SB900, but did 2 days of shooting with it.
The only issue I have with it at the moment is the temperature cutoff control. It can only take about 10 shots @ 200mm full-blast before over heating. Then have to wait for about 5 - 15 minutes (depending on the room temperature) to cool down and be ready for action again. But at other shorter focal length, no problem. I just gatal test it at the max distance and it really does go that far!
Other than that.... SB900 is the best flash I've used.... hands down.
:cheers::cheers::D:D
I hit the temperature cut off, and still continue shooting though...... ;) Didn't melt the SB900. ;)

Any comparisons between D3 & D700? I heard D3's IQ is still far beyond D700's reach.

i thought D700 uses the same sensor of D3? ISO should be same right? no?

Even if D700 use the same sensor as D3, it is impossible for D700's architecture to be similar to D3. ISO performance doesn't entirely depends on the sensor. It depends on the analog-to-digital conversion process which also involves other hardware & algorithms.

I've previously spoken to Jason of J-One who has sold both D3 and D700 to a few customers. According to him, the feedback from them is that there is still a difference in low ISO performance with the D3 having the upper hand.
It sounds logical that low ISO performance would not only depend on the sensor but also other components like the A/D converter and architecture of the circuitry.
If D3 and D700 is exactly the same in ISO performance and the only difference between the 2 bodies is 2 cards versus 1, integrated battery grip & fps, then the D3 is way overpriced...Nikon I'm sure would not want to send out the wrong signal.
That's why Jason said that those people who had bought both D3 and D700 subsequently sold off their D700 as their hope of the exact performance in a smaller and lighter package for those picture taking situations which did not require high fps, did not materialise. As a user, I can only complain of the D3's size n weight but everything else is just great. If Nikon can downsize n lighten the D3, it will be a 10/10 given the current competition.

i think the D3 is smaller if compared side by side to a D700+MBD10
correct me if i am wrong

correct correct.........D700+battery grip is higher than D3.
EXPEED coprocessor is the same using in the D700 and D3.
All the noise control etc.............all base on this coprocessor.
So suppose to be the same IQ.......................................
My friend sold out alot of D700 to D3 customer.
They say all fine, same as D3.
Advantage on the D700 cause light and 5 fps is good enough.

Have used both the D3 and D700. D3 wins hands down in terms of IQ and ergo. ;)
If you want small & light.. go for D90.
I just got my new D700 from YLcamera yesterday, no regret from upgrade form my 4 months old D300.:D

I have the same idea and am getting a D90 as a cropped sensor body to complement the D3 for macro and tele work.

I don't own both the D3 and D700 and what I heard is from other people who do own both and also from J-One who sold both models to some people. I'm sure that the D700 is a great camera having both the same sensor and EXSPEED processor. As such the D700 will be a major improvement over all the other existing Nikon bodies apart from the D3. And if there is a difference in IQ,low ISO and ergonomics, it should be quite marginal...may not be easily discernible so don't hesitate to get the D700, unless you already have the D3.

Hi, mates, whats the best price yet for the D700 & where can I get it.
My walk around town the other day got this figures;

I was told by another competitor that there are imitation/Thailand made D700 in the market n watch out for low prices.
How do I know its original except written Made in Japan.
Another Q; I hv a D200 with 17-50 tamron 2.8 lens & a 60mm 2.8 Nikon, I want to upgrade but not sure whether to buy a d700 or rather get a better lens nikon 2.8 range.
Im doing dance event ( cant use flash ) n weddings & I want something suitable with low light shoot. Pls advise.
I got it from YLcamera at RM8500 Made in Japan.

just got my d700 last week, vast difference in grains compared to my d200, beautiful at even 3200, poor thing not explored really on the camera yet.
I cant use my Tamron 17-50, need to get an fx lens.
