A shot of Chinese Opera that I went with nivek & acidict last Friday. It was my first time watching the Chinese Opera. I was very amazed how they still able to do perform this sort of what we call traditional performance. Even though I didn't understand the performance but I really enjoyed it. Too bad that young generation didn't really appreciate this dying art.

FYI, opera performances are every where now around Penang during the Hungry Ghost Festival. Read more about it here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Festival).

Very nice shot! Her expression is fantastic! Jz that it doens't look like a nikonian style, perhaps changing to white side soon:run_away:

I didn't do too much editing on this one because I was using my MacBook; not my usual Dell LCD monitor which I think would be more accurate.
That's why maybe it looks a bit warmer, I assume. :P

Hehe.. ur assumption is right! Wah... u got Mac book & u got Dell... I only got a 3 yr old Acer laptop running wif celeron processor. From 512mb Ram add to 1 gb than now 2 gb.. still slow..:D
& u must be testing on ur new SB900..

Yeah, her husband bought too much camera stuffs.
Ha Ha... Just joking. :P




According to acidict, that woman is the MOM. She got issues with some characters in the performance. :)

Don't know the story all about but really enjoy it. This show took place at the Jelutong market area.

These were shots from another opera at another place that me, acidict & nivek went a few weeks back.
I enjoyed the opera too even though I didn't understand a word that they were saying.
The whole atmosphere of the opera is nice.
Not just the performances but also the crowds, the backstage scene, etc.
What I remember the most is the hammocks that they set-up under the stage which are the place for them to rest & relax.

Thanks. Don't be disappointed with it. We all still lots of rooms to improve. :)
