If budget allowed up to 2k++, which UWA lens you will go for FF? Pls dun include N 14-24 2.8 & N 17-35 2.8.
Your input is highly appreciated.

Er why your poll options don't match what you said?
I'd get 14-24mm f/2.8 every time, best zoom lens every made.
But I'd get 12-24mm Sigma out of your poll options.

More often than the rest of my lenses.
Don't know your setup,but i probably reckon a 70-200mm is in it..
14-24, 50mm and 70-200 makes a wonderful team......
you can't get any wider than 14mm on a fullframe technically....
But it does depend on individual...some prefer to have the 24-70 as on camera lens.

14-24 Nikon lens. This is one lens I'm saving for myself.
Better wait a little longer until enough cash out there...
That range takes 40-50% of my shots, so it will be the lens I use most.
(Probably 25-30% in 24-80 range, 20% in 80-200 range, 5% in 300mm range)

i assume both of you are using FX now, don't you feel that 14-24 very wide for non landscape photography?
i'm more on portrait, currently most of time will use AFS 28-70 and AFS 80-200 for day light/70-200 VR for low light or Manual 35 f2, 50 1.4 & 85 1.4 for more bokeh and creativity shots.
mind you tell me what are you majoring into?

14-24mm (or any wide range below 24mm) is not only for landscape/scenery.
- architecture
- indoors (temples, old buildings, hotels, etc)
- markets (stuff that is sold there; go close....)
- people (pictures that show what people are actually doing as opposed to portraits which show just a face but nothing about the person)
add the scenery shots and sunsets and stuff and it's an awful lot ultra-wide can be used for.
portraits, macro and wildlife are the only stuff you don't really use it for. Now that list is shorter than the above...
But you have to go close. Even closer...

you have a good point here, i'm more into event, portrait and street photography, only 15% of my shots is into UWA, 24-70 alr good enough to handle FX cam, except travel. :)
i think it's good for you to go for this expensive piece of glass, because u r living in that angle, for me, i'm poor, only can afford sigma 12-24 max. :(

I think tools mate has stated it quite clearly.
Nevertheless, if you are into merely portraiture, the 24-70 should at the moment suffice. The 24mm capability should also give you enough capability to shoot nice sceneries. Remember it is easier to make mistakes with anything under 20mm. If you feel uncomfortable, try get a 20mm f/2.8 first. That prime should give you better images than the Sigma 12-24.
But always remember that the best sceneries aren't always achieved with the widest lens possible. Some great shots of landscape can also come from 100mm and longer, while also some great portraiture do also come from 30mm and shorter.
Time to think out of the box maybe?
Good luck and have fun!

Event and street photography 14-24 can do as well. But 24-70 more versatile there.
If one can afford 600$ Sigma he can get 1800$ Nikon too. Just have to wait longer, save up longer...
I prefer to buy the stuff I really want, never mind the price. Just safe up for longer time. Then use it longer time too. Good stuff will last long, get replaced seldom...
My 80-200 2,8 is still good enough. 70-200VR would be great but not really needed.
