Hello All
Many people ask me how i get this kind of contrast....well... its pretty simple

First you need soft light... this picture was lighten with the sun behind the clouds

in the pp you need 3 tools

dodge (the lights) and burn(the mids) to give the contrast

unsharp mask with high radius (to raise the contrast)

and the color correktor.. to reduce the hue and give the colour you like

Quesitions???

Calvin,
Thanks for the tips, and this is something which is really awesome! Good stuf! *thumbs up!* :D

I was just wondering how did you dodge the highlights, and also burn the midtones? Did you do this selectively based on the overall photo colors? This is because I see a uniformly processed of dodging and burning.

Thanks!

Hallo Calvin,

Gruss,
Sharon :D

dear moderator.. i think i'm bored.. so i wrote this.. i'm just telling calvin that we don't speak german & recommend him to use the dictionary translator.. don't shoot me ya.. cheers ;)

@Sharon
Vielen Dank für den Übersetzer.. der ist wirklich cool*g*

@All

For my picture i dont need more than 3 Layers.

One Layer Dodge and burn and the other layer unsharp mask

You need a picture with details... so if you have a part of a picture who dont have details... work on it... is this detail dark.. dodge the deeps
same to the bright parts

To give a picture contrast... is not more then sharpen.
If you sharp.... take a look that your picture dont get halos.(in this point you can use a mask)

The key in this picture is.... to see and to know which parts you have to dodge and which parts you have to burn... and of course how much

and every picture is diffrent... i needed 6 months to get this style... dont search for a plugin*g*

many plugins give a good final... but always look for the perfekt final*g*

Cool stuff Calvin! Would you mind if we tried processing your original pic? I mean instead of asking you to spoonfeed us, maybe we can try ourselves & post it for your comment?
