its has a socket for the cable to plug in and it's only for 550ex , 580ex and 580exII flash only.. 430ex and below does not have this feature

Err.. CP-E2 is an older model?
I thought the difference is:
CP-E2 uses 6 AA
CP-E3 uses 8 AA
