lanatir,
IMHO i think it is a very good practice to shoot this action figure coz by doing this, u can practice a lot but with much smaller scale. hmm... i think i should with this action figure shooting.
ooh oh.. btw, i like them all. for #3 & #4, i think u successfully bring out the sexiness of the action figure. very well done!! :D

my rating: :star::star::star: 1/2

often times, the sculptor would put the figures in a pose that is photogenic. it's up to u to bring out the best in them!

The dark background gives some atmosphere .....
Prefer lighter background to better highlight or show colours, features, contours, angles, crevices and accessories.

u're right about lighter backgrounds highlighting the outlines better

Yah I agree, because the figures in this set are quite dark a light background would make them stand out much better.

Also I agree the logo placement should be in the void space wherever possible and not over the figures!

that one just lazy job hahaha i would have preferred to make the black backgrd of the logo transparent

ya one more thing... my error in the choice of logo placement illustrates that at times if u want to shoot for a specific purpose e.g. magazine, u must reserve some space around the subject for title/words/logos

Lanatir....i blame you for making me buy a RM38.00 Strike Noir Gundam....now i have to fix the kit and want to do a "Lanatir" on the kit...kakakakaka...

Very good set, Lanatir, as usual...:rock:

alan, no worries! correct me if i am wrong - u are thinking that the photos need more light on one side. it is on purpose that i made the lighting looking directional as the figures are meant to be partially in the shadows.

deric, when?!?!? the MG strike noir just came out!

Yes, lanatir. I understand, and it sets the mood / atmosphere, too. Just my personal preference for more light - I also understand that more light could also result in 'flatter' images ... I have a long way to go :D

good to have your own views. i'm sure as time passes, you may change your mind about how lighting should be setup.

for me, flat lighting is out of the question... i don't want my toys to be shot in passport lighting :redface:
