I witnessed the killing this afternoon. 3 men with chainsaw in DBKL uniform doing the job. Why can't they let these hundred years old rainforest tree continue to live longer?! :(

aku sumpah siapa siapa yang bagi directive tu dan dalang dalang yang tersembunyi bahawa kehidupan mereka yang akan datang akan dipenuhi berbagai masalah sosial dan berpenyakit. (i'm bad dont follow me)
cis bahalol punya setan musnahkan pokok.
even if there is a problem posed by the tree to the public there are many ways to resolve the issue rather than to cut it down.....other countries can do it, only here they think with their heads full of tahi.
if the tree was being moved it wont be cut tat way....to cut it from its root. means to kill it.......If the tree could talk, the tree could probably uproot itself and start chainsawing the 3 goons like Lord of the Rings......scene
sorry folks abt the bad language above...for those who know Malay well....i'm damn pissed abt this...last time Ipoh city did this...they got hell from people....until the sultan intervened.

Don't think the tree will cause any hazard to the public. The wood is more solid than you or me.
I will continue to document this act until the poor wood is gone from the street.

OT here. some light humor abt this...
Our neighbour has 14 million trees planted all around the island and they are heck damn proud of it while we ..hm maybe we have too many, probably feel ashamed also..... and this one is so old....Old tree aiya.....where got nice lar...tourist see also wan kind.....this tree stood itself way before independence and WW2 and all it takes is 3 goons and some joker up in the chair to say *POTONG* :D
"lets chop some more down to build bigger potholed sized roads, obnoxious distasteful looking overpriced pigeon holes (Condo's), cemetaries next to Your Homes, ugly distasteful public so called images in public areas using cheap material which rots down after probably 2 seasons of rain and hot sun.
"Why not give some of our trees for our neighbour to round up the figure to 20 million, they will be more than happy to accept it"

I love Malaysia. But City Board just have no idea of how to beautify the city!
just say for eg. the beggar-kind road repair. everytime their repair a road. it left, patches that look darn ugly, and uncomfortable riding on it, bumpy!

And they fill the road so badly after 2-3 weeks the 'filling' will just come out, and the hole will be back again.
I miss UK roads.

Oh yeah, reminds me so much of that part of the road along SEA Park, PJ ;)
And the trees, I think we actually need more trees like that for more shade and better cooling than those .... eeerrrr ... palm trees :D Gosh, why cut it :?

if the tree was dangerous before, isn't it even more dangerous now that part of it's trunk is missing?
cant these people think before attempting to get something done

by the looks of it, could it be they're cutting away the outside layer that are causing the cracks in the pavement (which is not part of the original tree but another plant) ?
think the exposed inside is the actual tree trunk.
