Hi,

Is there any where I can do custom photo layout and send for printing eg. Photobook A3 size?

I need to arrange and crop the photos in any way I want eg. must be able to
- set a photo as entire background and place photos on top of it
- set a photo as background on 2/3 of the page and place photos on it, etc
- able to place dozens of photos in anyway I want spread across the pages.

The printing and album must be very professional quality.

I've tried pixart.com and photobook.com but the software used to layout the photos is very limited especially for pixart.

Maybe need to arrange myself manually and send to a shop that does this kind of thing.....any idea?

To clarify further the points....
- set a photo as entire background and place photos on top of it
- set a photo as background on 2/3 of the page and place photos on it, etc
- able to place dozens of photos in anyway I want spread across the pages.

I mean background as in spreading across from page on the left to page on the right.

*Don't double post - use the EDIT button*

Sorry I still don't quite understand. Do you have the photos in digital format now? If so, maybe you need someone who's good in Adobe Illustrator i.e graphic artists etc to work on the layout/design etc, before proceeding to a print shop.

Photobook accepts PDF and Mac layouts, you don't have to use their software.

Thanks guys. Ok so meaning we can actually do our own layout in Adobe Illustrator according to their dimensions then convert to PDF and send to those printers?

Which printer do you recommend?

i did a photobook using iPhoto recently. quite satisfied with it. they also accept PDF. you may want to contact Lee @ 012-2887182 Color Dot Com at DU uptown area. he's an agent for ecaz.

I was quite disappointed when I went to see their sample at Keat Camera, Jln Pudu. Probably the guy there just simply know nothing, and I was quite pissed by him. He was so blur, of EVERYTHING.

Anyway, this photobook produce by ecazstudios.com isn't that bad actually. My personal preference of issue is, the cover (dusk jacket?) is not binded/sealed/attached/glued/doubletaped/whatever-you-want-to-call. It is just a piece of better plastic like paper that fold, over the album cover. While you browsing, is either you have to take that off, or you will need to flip thru the album with extra attention in holding the paper so it won't spoil.

I know my word may bring confusion or misunderstanding or whatever. Probably you want to go to check it out yourself.

hi andy - i know what u mean. that cover you mentioned is actually optional & it goes over the hard cover as a jacket/sleeve. more like a front page since they can't print anything on the hard cover. but there is a softcover option too, which is cheaper actually but probably less impressive. i don't know abt keat camera but the guy i dealt with in du uptown is quite knowledgeable.

I've just tried the pixart pocket album recently. Instead of using their fixed background and layouts, what I did was this ... I took the background images of one of their themes (Spiral), then manually copy, paste, rotate, arrange etc my pictures onto that background(s). Then when I create the book using their software, I chose the "Edge-to-edge Single" template and just slapped on my pre-designed page(s).
