Shutter Asia's Photo Outing - KL Butterfly Park - Macro

Date: 21st July 2007 - Saturday
Time: 9.00am (Please be punctual)
Meeting point: At the entrance of the butterfly park.

Me and ST were chatting and we thought it'd be fun to return there again, seeing as to how the last time we went there we didnt really know what we were doing with our cameras, now we have a better idea. :P

I cant find a good map, here's a somewhat simple one.

If anyone's got proper directions, please pass them along. I cant really explain the way there, I just know how to get there. Nearby the parliament building I believe, Lake Gardens area.

1. Bring water (An absolute must!)
2. Bring mosquito repellent (Also an absolute must!)
3. Bring your camera, your lens of choice, flash if you have, fully charged batteries, and empty cards.
4. Bring a small towel to wipe your sweat
5. Dress appropriately, we will be walking along a path in the jungle after all.
6. Remember that this is a macro outing, so we will be bug hunting. This takes patience and perseverance, so we will move slowly. :D

Most people spend time with their families and many have church on Sunday, so it's not convenient :(

Is the Butterfly Park at a walking distance from the Orchid Gdns. and the Bird Park ? I think that it is and that they are all at the Lake Gdns. area. If I am correct, then the map above is a little misleading as, from the map, the Butterfly Park seems to be near Dataran Merdeka ! :0

I remember walking from the bird park to Dayabumi..so you're right, they're all within a stone's throw from one another! Check on google earth!

Yes they are all walking distance, Dataran Merdeka is not walking distance.

That map is definitely not to scale!

According to this site, dataran merdeka is 0.6km away, which is sorta walking distance i guess.

The orchid gardens and the birdpark are within walking distance though, I can assure you of that.

Yes there's parking directly opposite the entrance and it's free :)

Admission is 5 ringgit for adults (I can get a student fee nyeh nyeh nyeh), and they also charge for cameras, rm1 or 2, I forgot.

I thought it's Butterfly Farm at Teluk Bahang, Penang... no wonder the map looks a bit odd.. LoL thought of joining but.. argh.. it's in KL. :?
