One of the biggest of its type I've ever seen, in the office to boot! Even the Camerons one wasn't as big. I was quite apprehensive meself when I took this.

Can't remember and there's nothing to scale it, I think leg tip to leg tip 4 inches ....

Crapazola! Hehehe, did you notice the bits of dust stuck to it's hairy legs?

What I really want to know is, what the heck is a spider of this size doing in your office? Alan, you leaving out food for the critter ah?

fulat, LOL - didn't notice until you mentioned it! But it looks like a nice smiling face mah .... :D

goji - ahem ahem ..... I feed it bits of raw liver. :D
No lar, my office next to some secondary jungle and undergrowth, nearby a park. We have snake sightings, and an eagle landed across my window sometime back. Lotsa tree shrews, but squirrel & water hens MIA liao :(

ahchow - no, we just shoo-ed it away

Anybody can help me ID this arachnid?

Looks like a Huntsman spider....fits the description at least...prominent leg spines, large, staying in Alan's office (infrequently-disturbed place, hehehe!), crabby legs......

Generally not dangerous to humans but some the bite of some species can cause nausea, headache, vomitting and heart palpitations....nasty!

By the way, Alan....it only eats insects and other invertebrates....good thing to have one in your office....it doesn't build webs so it's not messy (in your case, the spider seems to be helping you dust your office, wahahaha!) and it eats pests so no cockroaches in your coffee mug!
