Hi jamaldn,

You can actually enlarge the picture size in PS. It will however degrade the quality a little.
If you shoot in RAW you can tweak the exposure. For jpeg I think noruazumi had it covered.

hmm, what u means as tweaking?

You will be able to enlarge the photo up to 100% (by experience) using Genuine Fractals.
You can get more details here (http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=2)

I think that is the best can be done which was done by noru. I dl the pic and found out that the scaling for the pic is already 100%. Anything more than that, you will see pixel coming out from the edges of the subject.

Here's my attempt at the second one - screen layer, curves, sharpen, crop, straighten and noise reduction.

for me usually, there's no one straight step by step.
i go back & forth so that i get the right output that i want.
so my steps usually starts with LEVEL adjustments (CTRL + L).
then some CURVE adjustments (CTRL + M).
there you go. try playing around with the sliders/graphs to see what will happen. :)

can i suggest something ??
if mainly on lightning, may try the Adobe lightroom 1.1
it will allow you to boost up the exposure and fill the lights
of coz, there will be some limitation on the lightning, if too high then you will see noise everywhere

i normally use lightroom if lightning is poor ;)

Wow nice replies from u all friends, thanks for u all dears. Who have license key for Fractals or Adobe Lightroom?

Yes that pant's material will reflect the light.

Fulat's adjustment has make some noise visible at the guy's face. Even his face is clean it's look like have chicken pox scars.

Any idea's for special effect that will make this image more attractive?

first of all, we does not promote any piracy in shutterasia.com. i hope everybody are fully aware about that. u can read the rest of the guidelines here, http://www.shutterasia.com/forum/rules.php.

second, as an easy steps, u can always make it looks like a painting by using any "artistic filters" offered in Adobe Photoshop. a very easy thing to do.

Yah it's hard with such a low res pic to make such drastic changes, cos the detail isn't there.

I think the pic here is referred to the one u posted here to be fix as you have already resized it to a lower resolution.

My try:)

1. Auto SmartFix via Adobe Elements5.
2. Some clone stamps to remove the shadows on wall.
3. Cropped and saved.

my method of doing it is simple, duplicates 3 - 4 layers, set all blending option to screen...
to scale your image to large from a small jpeg, try this, image size, scale 112.5% bicubic everytime, repeat the process until you get your desired size, you can record it into action to simplify the process, hopefully it helps.
