Why not you check out these guides:

I bought the Formula MC yesterday. Have not tried it yet since the microfiber cloth is doing such a great job cleaning the filter.
Read the letters-from-readers section in the CameraHobby site. One guy recommended using 'hypoallergenic, alcohol-free baby wipes'. Another suggested 'simple liquid hand/dish soap, or a bar soap spread into one's fingers'.
I've tried using diluted Glo dish wash liquid on my Hoya HMC filter once. The filter looked spotless, the stains are only visible when I breathe onto the filter to check. The coating seems OK to me. But I don't think Hoya recommends this method.
With filters, I just use hand soap and wash it under running water.

Can I use ECLIPSE to clean the lens, instead?
ECLIPSE is refined methanol.

I use Eclipse too.
I have no problem cleaning my B&W, even soap and water is fine, comes spotless.
But the HOYA multi-coat are a pain the ass to clean, really hard to get fingerprints off.
