I've got a Redang trip all planned out for this July. Would appreciate some heads up for an underwater housing for a 350D for snorkling purpose & some underwater dive not exceeding 15ft.
Is there anywhere I can get such stuff in KL for either rental basis, or economically cheap for purchase? Better still if anyone can loan :P
All tips and help regarding this is very much appreciated. Cheers!

underwater housing in KL forget it, dont waste your time.. you can't even find it here...unless u use P&S..
Better find it in SG or Jay, suggest ebay purchase from the states. Prepare to fork out premium...a simple P&S underwater casing already cost almost RM700. If DLSR would be in the thousand :D
Pinjam... err..unless u have friends who are in diving mode

An underwater case for an SLR will cost you in the region of RM4000, it's much cheaper to buy a good compact and the case.
I'm thinking of a Canon A710 IS + casing or G7 + Casing, both are in the region of 2k.

Underwater casing for DSLR will be more expensive than the camera usually. N for different lens it need different types of underwater lens case.
Example: D2x under water camera casing alone is cost more than RM12k :Eyecrazy:
If you not use frequently then just get a PnS camera n a underwater casing will be a better choice JayHan

To invest in DSLR underwater casing, you need to invest a good strobe too. Imagine minimum spending of RM6k min depending which brand you are taking. Secondly there is addition $$ to spend on lens case unless you use only 1 lens at all time.
Consider investing on PnS (high megapixel, optical zoom, super macro, anti-shake, user friendly buttons and features) + underwater casing. You might spend RM4k max?! Moreover PnS built-in flash is more powerful than DSLR built-in flash.
BTW, Euro conversion to RM is sap sap sui :D

Yah I'm gonna get me a Powershot A710 IS or a G7 and underwater case, both combo are between 2-3K plus can add on a proper external strobe for awesome results for another 1.5k.
So say 4.5k can have really good setup.
