Meaning to write this for a long time, but one thing after another keeps popping up...

OK.. Here's my review for PRIME at Le Meridien Hotel

Setting of the restaurant is very 'man-ly', being a steak house and not too bad...

4124

He's what we ordered...

My wife and i both had Prawn and Boston Lobster for entree @ RM65 each.:0

My wife ordered the Rib set @RM110:0

I ordered the T-Bone Steak @ RM110:0

Side dish I ordered was portabello mushrooms @RM20, Pea's and asparagus @RM15:0

For desert I had the New York Cheese Cake @ RM25 and my wife had the Rich Hot Chocolate Cake @RM30:0

Fruit Juice (1 orange and 1 star fruit) @ RM15 each.:0

Our Entree arrived...
4125

There were fresh saute mushrooms with sun-dried tomato on the lobster and was a bit spicy, giving it a zing... Salad tossed in a lovely dressing and some saute onions on the side...

Entree was fabulous...:tongue_roll:

They gave us some fresh bread, 2 types - Focaccia & Mexican, with 3 types of butter, a spicy one, a plain one and a sun-dried tomato/garlic one...

4126

Meal started off fantastic... The bread was absolutely scrumptous...

Then came the main meal...
4127
T-bone for RM110 came bare... like this... with 1/2 fried tomato and some sun-dried tomato with mushrooms on the side.

My wife's set came with mash potatoes & Peas with Broccoli

4131

The four dishes in the middle of the table are the vegetables.

The three small pots on the left hand side are 3 types of sauces for the steaks... They were Truffle something (Can't read my own handwriting), Pepper and a barbecue...

The steaks were super tender and yummy...:)

The Portobello Mushrooms were fantastic, other vege's were normal...

However... the asparagus was old asparagu and off... which is a real disappointment for this type of place and for the type of pricing you are paying...:wtf::mad::whipped:

In terms of desert, the New York Cheese cake was nothing to shout about, but the chocolate cake was not too bad...

Overall, not a bad place, however, bcos of the pricing, it's a kinda once off or once in a blue moon (unless they got specials) kinda place to eat... I'd rather go upstairs to Al Nafourah (which i'll review another time... plus got belly dancer on weekends...):run_away:

PS... yeah yeah... pics are terrible... was too busy eating...

Oh yeah forgot to mention...

All the beed they use are "PRIME" cuts... kobe steak will set you back RM330 per steak...:0:?

Yeah only the bread looks nice haha rest looks like waste of money man..

Can go to Eagle's nest (superb steak!) or Eden or similar and feed 3 people (with beer and dessert) for what you paid for one steak & starter hehe.

Damansara Perdana, I had Eden's double filet mignon, one of the best steaks I've had in a long time!

I used to eat a lot of steak, don't even know where's the best any more..

Let's start doing some quest for the best steak.

I've already notched up about 6 placed in my quest for Xiao Loong Bao :)

Oh yeah, the steaks at Eagle's Nest are really good. Value for money compared to those at hotels...:D

Wah, starlit dining (dining under the stars) ... :D
Hmm, entree wasn't worth it. Steak looks kinda ordinary (too well done?) or bland but then again, looks like you were not using or not allowed to use flash. Putting the veg into those bowls cut down the individual portions.

ST's description of the filet mignon sounds good. Have yet to find a steak that betters Castell's.

Bread and the butters sounds and looks good.
Oh man, I can whip up the portobello, peas and asparagus for a fraction of that cost :D:D
