OK...

In line with our drive to make SA not only a online forum, but also a place for ppl to get together offline for activities, I will be starting a Monthly Food Critic's Meal...

What will happen is each month, we will pick a restaurant, be it a mamak or a super expensive place, where we will go and eat, talk and review the food.

As one man's meat is another man's poison, with a group going, we'd get a better review...:D

August will be our 1st review. I will choose the 1st location, we will discuss the next ones duing the 1st meeting / or u can PM me...

Date: 19th August 2007
Location: Eest Restaurant @ Westin Hotel (Halal)
Meal: Dim Sum Lunch
Info: An Asian fusion restaurant that has a dim sum buffet every weekend.
Price Range: Arun 55++

Put your name on the list, and if you need a ride / carpool do notify

I have heard good things abt Eest @ Westin. But poor man like me can't afford fancy places like those.

How about start with a cheaper dimsum place then work our way up?

How about...
King Crab Restaurant
103-107 Jln SS25/2, Tmn Mewah Jaya, 47301 PJ. Tel: 03-7803 6999. (opp Kelana Jaya LRT). www.kingcrab.com.my
Comments: Authentic HK dimsum from 7am - 2.30pm

King Crab - food is pretty bad there, never tried the dim sum though.

But if you want good dim sum, just around the corner by taman megah there's a good and fairly famous early morning dim sum joint called Kee Hiong.

I'm pretty fussy with my dim sum... so far the only places which is any good i have tried is Ritz Carlton. Westin & Imperial Sheraton also not bad for for being halal...

no-one else that i have tried comes anywhere near my standard...

PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG...:)

Try Lai Ching Yuen at Regent Hotel. Probably the only non-halal hotel dimsum in KL. The dim sum were amazing.

U guys have got it all wrong... the best dimsum in the world is... at its birthplace..... Guangzhou.

Guangzhou Restaurant @ Shangxiajiu
Banxi Restaurant
Chau Kee
... just to name a few.

U can take an early morning AirAsia flight to Macau (or SZ), take a 2-hr bus to GZ, have dimsum and be back on the evening flight to KL. Much cheaper & nearer than London, NY or Perth. :P
