not everybody stand in the middle. but you have to choose a camera for your self. Not we choose for you. My food might be your poison ler. As i like tomyam and spicy food a lot. some people cannot take it endup with diarrhoea.

But do you know the limitation of D40? You can't auto focus with non-AFS and non-AFi lenses.

Go to your shop and hold both and then let your heart decide. They're both good entry level cameras.

What about 400D or D40X?

Difficult choise to make. I'm still in the film era and don't know which to go for.
