well... to share my experience, I found out recently when I unmount sigma 18-200mm lens from my cam, The cam body mounting Ring 'berkarat'!!:0! but the sigma mount not affected.
My mistake also because i didn't clean it up thoroughly after the trip. but... Wasn't the Ring suppose to be stainless steel:?? considering we payed RM2k+ for the gadget!
Anyway, i learn from mistake since then, after every trip, will check for stains or dirt in every surface and joints. And don't ever take for granted...:tongue_roll:
berkarat body mount ring ??...no way...if within warranty send back to claim new body la :D:tongue_roll:

hehe... i'm putting myself in a chopping block with this comment. :D
but be aware that i'm not trying to create flames or what so ever.
about the 400D...
to me, i felt the body a bit too plasticky and the size a bit small for my big hand.
D50 also a bit small to my big hand and i got hand-cramps if i hold it for a long time.
:D

yalo.... for 400D, the Canon Battery Grip is a must hav for giraffe hands like me:P. but price here quite 'kick' at about RM580 without twin battery packs. (with is around RM800):0 expensive ler... stuff here in Kuching, Sarawak... 'cut throat':tongue_roll: still saving $$$ for the grip...

regarding the mounting, i just read from dprevew.com and it states that the lens mount is 'METAL'. which i think is prone to 'berkarat'...
But still, i'll try to claim warranty. Anybody work for canon here:D?, can help do enquiry:P?

I suppose we all chose superior image quality over minor "miniaturized camera body" issues, which could also be overcome with an attachment of the said battery grips :P *pulling noru's legs*
Can I say I love the plasticky feel? :P
