Halal muslim fare is quite easily found in Xian, esp in the Muslim quarters, right behind the Drum Tower in downtown Xian.

Main St. on The Islamic Quarters, Xian.
Bustling with people, day and night...mostly tourists, i suspect

Find a-lot of similarity with our food here in M'sia
This murtabak-look alike is absolutely delicious:tongue_roll:It's deep-fried instead of pan-fried Beef or mutton fillings..cost only RMB 1 each...

Don't usually take mutton, but since this is the famous noodle in Xian, just have to try it..stumble on the stall as we came out from a side door of the Grand Mosque . A must try.http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1223/960071029_0618872b10.jpg

This dish is quite popular in cities along the Silk Road.Tastes like cold, spicy Chee Cheong Fun

Xian delicacy known as "Rou-Jia-Mo";..translated to mean meat sandwich. Don't be misled by its non-descript look. Absolutely something to die for!

The non-halal version can be found in this shop..just follow the add on this wrapper. The shop is located on the street perpendicular to the front entrance of Drum Tower

Nice food pix. Thanks for sharing. I think those are pickled onion, called "qiao tou"(荞头) in Mandarin - a very common appetizer anywhere in China. Cold noodle is great when the weather is hot. The rest look good too. Now I know what to eat if I ever go to Xian..:D
