I don't like boiled ones so much, prefer fried with that wicked sweet chili sauce.

No there is two type, the fried ones are also boiled first, then fried after in a wok.

You can also buy the unfried one, fresh boiled. It's much softer.

some keropok were meant to be eaten RAW meaning after they have been boiled.
there's a dipping chilli sauce which extremely yummy.
i believe Terengganu is famous for it's keropok lekor.
there's Keropok Losong and a few more but i can't to recall their names.

don't know about u guys, but i find myself a hard time to find a good keropok nowaday.
most of the keropok was made from too much flour instead of more fishes.

after i saw this thread, i think i want to go back to my hometown, Kuantan to find some nice keropok.
then a short trip to Kuala Kemaman to enjoy "Sata" and "Otak-otak"...
yummy~

Actually keropok lekor (Terengganu) @ keropok gote (Kelantan) is made from fish and sago/sagu flour. And Terengganu made is famous because they put more fresh fish than sago flour. U will love it especially dip with special made chilli sauce (colek). If u want to bring home some, ask them to put/rub (sapu) some oil on the boiled keropok. It will maintain its freshness. U can fried it or boil it once again and dip it in colek.
Similar to keropok lekor/gote is keropok keping. It is sliced and dried under the sun. Fry it in a deep oil for 3 sec. Dip it in colek. Fuhhh delicious.
