How does the Stofen-like China made diffuser compare to the real Stofen? I know the China made ones may have lower plastic quality but any difference in quality of diffused light?

frankly i'd recommend to forget about either one, u'll hardly use it and a bit difficult to know when to use it - i was caught up in the hype as well when i was with an SB-600 (which didn't come with a diffuser) and had ordered one on the web for about RM100, but hardly was satisfied with the results

i'd recommend the Demb Flash Diffuser instead

Yeah I wouldn't bother, I have one that came with my SB-800 but I never use it.

It doesn't give good results.

You're better of with a Demb or Gary Fong diffuser.

Between the China and Original, the Original would be better colour balanced, that's about the only difference.

I see...Demp look pretty cumbersome and the Gary Fong one is an ugly monster :D...anyway looks like either use big stuffs or not at all heh thanks!

yep... those are monster.

the best is to bounce the lite, if possible.

One question? Two, actually :D GF vs Demp, which one is better? Are they available locally?

Haha, I am planning too far ahead. Don't even have external flash yet..:P

after comparing notes with friends, i've concluded that the DFD is better than the GF - although both give almost the same results, but light with the DFD is easier to control due to it being coupled with the "flip it" whereas the GF doesn't, so it could mean you will need to tinker more on the flash power output (in Manual) depending on each shot

agree that both are ugly :D
