Composition kinda un-interesting...
too central, maybe add some theme to it, like crack the egg, remove top off egg, salt n pepper shaker, etc...

Thanks for the comments. I shall look more into the composition.

I'm not seeing how it's abstract either, it's very clear what the subject is!
Lighting is kind of flat too don't you think?

Thanks for viewing and comments. Could be my bad interpretation on the meaning of abstract. :p
About lighting, how about these two pics:

I like number #2 - just add a slight fill from the right side with white paper and compose with it to the left and void space on the right.
That's be nice I think

Not quite really get you with this white paper. Do you mean add a piece of white paper on the right so that the background would be black and white, and move the subject to the left ??

I mean put a piece of white paper slightly out of the frame on the right side to reflect some light back and act as 'fill' light.
You don't have to move the thing physically unless your background is so small, you can just recompose the pic with more blank space on the right.

Oh, thanks for the comments again.
Actually there was a big white cardboard on the right of the frame to act as a fill light reflector to bounce back some light to the right of the egg. This is how it looks if I took away the white board on the right :

So, do i need to set higher flash power to get more fill flash ?
Thanks for viewing.

Ah, no you don't need more light, you need a more reflective surface.
Try silver reflector instead of white.

No worries, we are all here to learn and share.
And of course lighting is THE most important part of photography!
