A lot of people don't like Italianies for some reason, I know I do. It was rather over-hyped when it first opened, but for the price and the portion size I do find it good.

Great portion sizes, tasty food, quick service and decent ambience.

There are two branches that I know of, one in The Curve (Mutiara Damansara) next to Laundry Bar and one in 1-Utama new wing near the bridge.

Free Bread, sometimes warm from the oven, always fresh. A welcome start when you are hungry and waiting for your order.

402

Served with Olive Oil and Vinegar, good combination.

403

My favourite, Calamari Caesar Salad.

404

The squid is crispy and tender, the salad is juicy and fresh with just enough flavour to give it some kick.

Spicy Prawn Pasta with Green Beans.

405

Lovely, tender succulent prawns with light cooked pasta tossed in an appetizing but not over powering sauce.

I can't remember what this is called, but it's lovely (rather rich though). It's chicken in a creamy cheesy sauce with spinach, capers and other stuff. Very lovely but rather overpowering.

407

The meal came to RM95 in total.

I hope you enjoyed the pics as much as I enjoyed eating the food.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Nice food pics - just the right amount of DOF (don't like them when too thin) & bg blur ... how for away was the cam from the food, if I may ask? Food looks really yummy :) 95 with drinks?

ShaolinTiger

Thanks mobbes, they were taken between 30-50mm at f/4.5 so the camera was fairly close (probably at minimum focusing distance maybe 1.5ft?) because these are all full frame shots.

I tend to drink iced water when I eat as I don't want to spoil the taste of the food, so yes RM95 including drinks!

the place is overated for the price that one is paying for. i think the food doesn't taste as good as it looks.

Spinach & artichoke formaggio. The crusts taste really good, and somehow I believe the formaggio dip would be too had I not tried it only after it turned cold and rancid.

Calamari caesar salad.

From left-to-right: the Classic Carbonara; Clam Linguine (didn't get the sauce name though); and Marinara Shrimp Linguine.

And oh, it's eat-all-you-can pasta day on Wednesdays for only RM19.90/person. I'm not sure if this applies to all branches, I've only gone for it once at the One-Utama branch. You can choose your own choice of pasta, sauce, and topping :)
