View Full Version : Twilight in Putrajaya
I love Putrajaya. I've only been there once. It's modern, clean and what not. Here are a few pics taken only two weeks of getting my DSLR. C&C appreciated. Bear with why I used such high ISOs.. I was silly enough to think that it was sharper at higher ISOs then, but not too much. All shots were taken by the Canon EOS 400D
1 - This was one of my first few shots there.. Just a few minutes before the sun was starting to set. (1/20secs, at f/8, ISO 400)
408
2 - This is a zoom burst.. Apparently emphasised the rays. (1.3secs, at f/29, ISO 100)
409
3 - While everyone else was shooting the mosque during twilight, I was waiting for some lightning! Unfortunately, this was the best I got from that day.. The tower was moving at the same time and my tripod nearly slipped off. (1.6secs, at f/16, ISO 100)
410
4 - Upon walking down the tower after getting the shot of my lightning, I saw this opportunity and took a pic of it. (5secs, at f/8, ISO 200)
411
5 - This is a pic of the bridge just next to the Prime Minister's office. (5secs, at f/11, ISO 200)
412
6 - The Prime Minister's office just after sundown. (8secs, at f/8, ISO 200)
413
7 - An isolated picture of the Prime Minister's office. (15secs, at f/9, ISO 200)
414
8 - Here, the Putrajaya bridge. Shot underneath.. Mind you, it's not directly straight.. Flare was also hard to control. (15secs, at f/16, ISO 100)
415
9 - As I walked on over to the other side of the bridge I saw this boat pass by with green light bulbs over it. I immediately took a shot of it. (25secs, at f/11, ISO 100)
416
10 - Climbed up unauthorised ladders to get a better angle of the cars moving across the bridge. My camera kept on hitting the side of the walls! Argh! (25secs, at f/11, ISO 100)
417
11 - I don't know what building this one's called. But I'm guessing it's one of the main buildings there. Anyway, took a shot of it to show the wonderful reflections. (5secs, at f/8, ISO 200)
418
12 - Here's the smaller bridge. (30secs, at f/11, ISO 200)
419
13 - Haha and last of all, one of me drawing my name. It's actually Wei-Ming. That's Halee by the left. (30secs, at f/18, ISO 400)

Thank you all guys. I must admit, the camera just did it all by itself.. I really didn't know how to use it then. Just some minor things - I knew.. :D

Good shots ming, interesting and unique compositions.
Let's do a Putrajaya shoot again soon, I discussed with CM too.
Daytime Macro & Flowers at Botanical garden, then later during Golden Hour can do architecture and sunset.

Very nice images Ming, especially #1 (compo & color), #3 (dunno why - maybe that single streak), #8 (unique shapes, 2-tone color on tiang), #12 (compo). #2 is zoom in or out ah?
Yannick, enjoyed yours too. #4 very nice unique mood :)
Thanks for the kind words mobbes... Glad you enjoyed them

Impressive, Ming. Very nice. :)
Thanks noordin.. Your kind words are appreciated
Very nice series, ming. I particularly like #3 and #4 a lot. It's amazing how you managed to capture the lightning that struck down and those horizontally as well, cool man! #4 has very nice lighting, I like :)
Thanks so much blur. Well for the lightning shot, I had to do many exposures consisting of 20sec exposures and so on.. Kept on missing the strike. This one isn't so good though.. Haha anyway, thanks again
