We rambled through the gardens of Tanjung Rhu together, only a youngster, about 3 feet in length. Not worried by me at all.

They can grow up to more than 10feets long.

Nice captures, the images look a bit soft though.

I checked your EXIF and can see everything but the shutter speed, so I'm not sure what it was at.

Or perhaps it was just using the full zoom.

They are pretty proud creatures though, they don't tend to be bothered by us pesky humans :)

Yup, I shot about 30 pictures, quite a few at full zoom and mostly 1/30 or 1/60th exposure - it was surprisingly gloomy in the undergrowth.
I once came across at least a 7 footer on Perhentian, but it decided to go the opposite direction before I could even focus - it really was the biggest that I have seen in Malaysia.
Soft images, true - possibly also due to the FZ30's softness at full zoom, and also inadequate PP by me. Still so much to learn, but, hey, that's why I'm here :D
