The sunlight is too harsh for this shot causing very strong shadows. There are blown highlights too. A fill-in flash may help to lighten the shadows and prevent blown highlights in this case. Natural light flower shots are best taken under difussed light, unless you wanna take backlight shots. Just my 2 cents. :)

1. Technical
This image is badly exposed. Could be your reliance on the on-camera meter. It would be better if you can meter the brightess spot and overexpose it by 2 stops.

2. Composition
There are some elements in the background that has weaken the impact of the image.

3. Comments
Time should be spent thinking about composition and exposure when taking a relative static object like flowers. Take your time and smell the flowers.

Elements in the foreground to the left and bottom left of the image distract the viewer from the main subject, the flowers in the middle. The dark flowers blurred out to the right arent particularly attractive either. Nice sharpness, but a tad overexposed to me.

#1 got harsh ligthing. overexposed most of the part.
#2 a bit distracting. blurred foreground seemed not needed. however the exposure very good to my eyes. beautiful flowers too! :D
