the filter would be good to protect your lens. afterall its only around rm50. anything happens, the filter takes it first instead of your lens' glass. :)

i dunno if you guys encountered but i went to a shop and asked for the price. They gave me for RMxxx but no stock. I waited and called back a few days, the person said that he misquote price it was actually higher. I took no nonsense from him and got it at Rmxxx. :mad:He kept pestering me to buy filter. I had none of it. So he :azz: cos he know I from forum.

For those who shop around, if it is a good deal,just snag it. Price diff may be +- a couple of bucks but don't hesitate unless ridiculously overpriced.Not looking like a tourist also helps.

Don't ask me which shop. I don't want to be whistle blower.No protection:D

Most shops that give cheaper than market prices don't actually have stock, usually in stock they will charge higher.

It's normal.

On big ticket items they will say they can give more discount but boss is not around cos he's overseas...so they gotta wait (to delay you so you get frustrated and buy at higher price).

Best just to walk away and go buy somewhere you can trust like J-One or YL.

True, I'd been searching for f/1.4 around but none available. Soon as I drop by YL yesterday, he quoted me rm1.3, I grab it without looking further.

Almost got poison for 30D body for RM2700, so tempted.. the next day, few units of the 30D were sold. Good deal hard to come-by these days.

I got a shock of my life when i heard this price. Might not be relevant but just to share my experience.
Enquired for the price of 50 1.8 in Dubai, Mall of Emirates and that guy quoted RM600!!! and he said can give me for RM400...walked right off without saying another word!
Bloody con-mans think they can rip people off just because this is Dubai.

Have not really tried playing with it, but a few shoots during makan with friends, I like what I'm seeing. :cool:
