I am capturing more towards wedding ceremony...so what should i use?

1.anyone use this before?
2.what is the pro and cons?
3.how much of the price in KL?
4.Clear or Cloud is suitable for wedding?

Thanks!

my experience, lightsphere is good for close proximity shoot. i use it for make-up session, portrait & outdoor shoot. for indoor, go with bounce card or flip-it for better frontal lighting. stofen is good too for sniping from a distance.
this is just my personal preference.

Personally prefer Demb Flip-It Diffuser. More control-ability.

no one can tell which one can suit you better as you yourself have your own style of shooting and flash control. same as everybody here. they can share their experiences but u have to know your shooting style first. like myself, i don't use any diffuser. i like bouncing off ceiling/wall but that only possible if i have white ceiling/wall. else, i just use bare flash which i have far more control than using any diffuser which i think just spread the flash all over the place with extra usage of power.

Yeah it's hard to say, best to try both. Some people prefer one or the other, some don't mind either.

azumi: The point of something like lightsphere or flip-it is to give you a ceiling bounce type effect without a ceiling, or when the ceiling is too high.

i would say so far so good :D
no chance to test on whaletail as not available in Msia yet (i see the preview from the net saying whaletail more better than lightshpere  )

i agree with noruazumi :D it depand on ur shooting style
good luck in ur "hunting" :run_away:

haha..thanks for all gurus...then i wil buy lightsphere...coz in my opinion shooting wedding is more towards instantaneous shooting...or so called candid shots....so i dun have much time to control the flip it too...mayb i am not so pro yet ..so jus make the light spread all over la....haha

i use a lightsphere clear version and it's useful to achieve flattering images for portrait and up-close. i usually leave the top open if the ceiling is low. the cap works as a diffuser if you point your flashgun direct to the subject.

it's expensive for a cheesy looking tupperware diffuser, but i just couldn't help but to purchase one out of curiousity. i didn't want to spend more dineros on a cloud version, so what i sometimes do is i stuff a fistful of tissue paper inside the cup and switch to manual FEC to achieve greater/softer diffuse. you can also experiment with colored tissue paper or flourecent paper and surprise yourself!

 whale tail not available in Malaysia yet?

I've been using GF Whale Tail for 2 months now.. i tried the lightsphere before too, in normal light situation, i cant barely see any different between these two (but ofcourse there is), but when it comes to complicated lighting situation, whale tail is the champion..

If u have to choose between the GS LS and GF WT, why dont just get the WT, performs better and it is universal, when u change ur flash unit, u still can use it.. just my humble opinion..

Whaletail? its the first time I came to know that. Gary Fong do came up with odd design. lol Lightsphere looks like some instant noodle bowl. and Whaletail looks like toilet bowl. lol.

anyway I came across two interesting reviews.

there is an instruction manual comes with the GF WT that i bought..

recommended setting from Gary Fong is to use Av mode @ iso 400-800 for indoor mid to low light condition..

this picture was taken with 430EX+WT and canon 50mm F/1.8

I could not find one for the pentax flash ..so DIY ed one..will post picture soon

I cut a styrofoam to fit the flash and stuck a clear plastic taufoofah tupperware on the styrofoam with double sided tape and voila..my own Lightsphere..

so far it manages to produce soft shadow and completely well exposed portraits

Hey guys i got the GF imitation lol ... now i got question .. HOW TO USE lol .. well it claims that it can reflect light in ALL direction ... so it doesn't matter where to point it ? DO we still put it at an angle so it bounces to the ceiling ... or directly upwards or what ? What condition use what angle ?

And we can still do "direct flash" with that cap/dome thing on the lambency right ? Shouldn't be too harsh ?
