another poor b&w conversion by me! :(

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b391/noruazumi/DSC_38302007-01-13____resizeSA.jpg

this shot was taken at Lake Tahoe during my last visit to the States.
Me & my colleagues went there for a one day trip of snowboarding.
i purposely took the shot from that angle to get the lens flare which i really like.
please give comments & show me which area should i improve esp. in b&w conversion.
thanks!

p/s: please let me know if bigger photo would be better help in order to give comments.

Looks cool to me :D I like the composition, like everything converging towards the sun!

Using the maximum 800px width is always best as it allows us to see more details.

never shot snow scene b4.

Heard getting the right exposure for the snow s tough but looking at your photo... it seems easy. nice shot. :D

maybe u can post under the fix this section and see if others can convert better:rolleyes:

Personally prefer the left side details i.e. trees and people be left out, with a lower angle of approach, to better focus on the chap and the surroundings. Love the flare :D

I like the scene. Quite rare to see snow scenes here. I think the flare could have been avoided, if you move more to your left. It's a matter of changing the angle a bit. Just my 2 cents.

Not easy to shoot a scene like that with so much sunlight reflecting off the snow.

The flare and shadows work very well, IMHO....adds some dramatism to what could have easily been a normal, boring photo.

Great shot.

You did well in breaking the rules, shooting against the sun and inviting flares.

Nice composition. Mind me asking, is there more to the right of the photograph that was cropped off? IMHO, the trailing shadow would have been better if the whole shadow is in the frame.

thanks Alan!
it was not cropped.
it was my mistake not paying enough attention when shooting it.
and yes u r right, it'll look better if the shadow is in frame.
i'll remind myself next time. thanks ya! :D
