what is the best price for D80 body ONLY now and where?

Warranty set (Malaysia) or imported? Last I heard is RM3100 for the first set and for imported body its RM2890.

RM3100 from which shop?

Rm2890 Japan import from shashinki right...cheper and made in Japan woh...any problem with it? worth buying?

Local
D80 Body (local) - RM 3550
D80 Body + kit lens - RM 4295

D80 Body Japan Import was earlier seen RM2895 only, i guess they marked up the price.... :( , it not worth buying a japan import already


what other lower offer that you people out there saw?

Whew...ok...and i thought D80 body price has come down so much. LOL. I bought mine for 3400 back in June. Package price coz i bought a couple of lenses.

Yeah they increased the price recently. I guess it is the sudden influx of D80 buyers. If I am not wrong, YL Camera was offering RM3100 for import body as well.

i reckon it's mostly are due to our shrinking ringgit.

I'm planing to buy a D80 very soon.

Yesterday KL Plaza / Miami photo gave me;

Imported
D80 Body 3400RM
D80 Body + 50mm f1.8 3500RM

Local
D80 Body 3500RM
D80 Body + 50mm f1.8 3700RM
D80 Body kit 18-135mm 4050RM

Anyone got cheaper price for local kit?

I went to miami photo to buy local set for the price that they confirm one day ago guess what? No stock he said he is going to call me but never called until today.

Means that they where bluffing at all, another cheating company must stay away...

That's another reason why we only recommend very few shops actually, most will promise good prices until you actually want the stock...the no stock.

Then when got stock, another price.

Or they will say the tauge is overseas have to wait until he's back to get pricing blah blah.

Best stick to those reputable dealers :)

Can i find out in terms of warrenty, what is the difference in getting local or overseas kit?
Can you purchase extended warrenty?

Also how come Japan made camera is cheaper? are the local units make in Malaysia or in Thailand?

You should buy 18-200mm lens...got VR too. RM2530 in Penang.
One lens is enough for everything.

Yeah 18-200 that's what we call a holiday lens :) If you're new it's a very good start but after a while, not enough tele, not enough wide, not enough sharp blah blah blah...

But as you said if looking for one lens is for every thing yes good choice... For canon we bought to my friend a few weeks ago;

18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS =1800RM (Boeing SungaiWang)

If I'm not mistaken YL selling 1750 (not sure)

Because we're lucky :P I think it's because so many shops, means so many competitors.

The Nikon D80 body's price is currently RM2700 from YL and JOne and RM2900 from Shong-Lee 1Utama, Boeing and Tarita in Sungai are both selling for RM2800

heard of it, then set EV-0.3, then all photos become underexposed
lastly have to set to Ev 0 n get 95% correct exposure

funny thing, isnt it?
another d80 user (we bought the camera on same day) also not facing much exposure problem

I tried using Aperture priority on the D80 and the performance for it seems better compared to my D200 though. That is what I feel as I was shooting for my friends at KLCC park in the morning with bright skies and direct sunlight. The D80 seemed to accurately evaluate the exposure setting correctly whilst the D200 seemed to over expose for me.

55-200VR around rm850/900.. 18-55VR don't know.. how ever, better u buy 18-70mm... bcoz it's a 'magic lens'.. 3 ED element 1 aspherical..

For D80 i suggest combine with nikon 18-200mm(RM2500) or 16-85mm VR(RM2000).
