Nice, but looks like it was taken wide open at min distance, too.

hmmmm... doesn't look sharp enough for me that cause lack of details for macro shots. dun worry jackjack, i also got the same problem. waiting for tai-lo alan to teach me first! :D

Not enough DOF, JJ. Taken with a macro lens or not?
Just remember that at such close distances or with a macro lens, you'll need to set a high aperture like f/8 onwards....I normally shoot at f/13-16. Many ppl shoot at f/32 for maximum DOF.
Hmm...it does have a nice soft effect....a bit too soft in the middle though.

it was 55mm on a kit lens at a min distance:p

too much of empty space on top too. the subject is in the center, try to be more creative next round. :p

Not bad already....Canon 18-55 kit lens, right? Yeah, that lens is really quite soft...min distance some more.
Time to get a 100mm macro? Hehehehe!
