From my import experience, its important for your item not to get stuck at customs, as some delivery agencies would deemed it held at customs as their final destination. Then you will either have to come down or get pos malaysia to send it to you at an extra charge.
As for tax wise, we're duty free but sometimes the parts we order may look funny to them , and you need to susah susah go down there and demonstrate that its photography equipment :?:?

That was Konica S2 & Yashica GSN together, cost me few hundred. Sad is the shipment was reach malaysia, and "lost" due to our post office.

i ordered some photo equipment from oversea. one from italy and one from us. 1 case i even have to go airport custom to clear it myself. but no tax. tax very much depend on their tax structure and sender understanding of international taxation and that effect us when thing coming in m'sia. ie for italy, if sender intelligent they will indicate "FOR GIFT ONLY" , then save a lot for them and save for our side. for other countries, they will have each way do it right.
for peleng, lot in ebay . pls research n read the internet carefully abt it. there are lot of comment abt build , ghosting etc...i thinking nikkor 10.5 but end up sigma 8mm. awaresome lens, believe me no regret !!:D hope this help
