Hey guys .. just wondering .. Do we EVER use flash outdoor in the morning ? This question suddenly came to my mind coz the last time i went to an outing with some photography people .. they use flash in the morning =.=" ... My knowledge tells me the only time i need flash in the morning is shooting portrait for fill-in effect ... is there any another "occasion" or "cases" where we need flash in the morning ?

Nah, you might use off camera flash to give more dynamic lighting or use flash dialled very low to give you some fill light and reduce the shadows.

But if the light is good in the morning generally you don't need any flash, just a reflector or sometimes nothing at all!

A lot of pros have flash attached to their cameras all the time. They're for fill-in flash actually, makes for better portraits. If you're shooting landscape then forget it. :P

Most macro shots need flash even in good morning light.

for me, it is not about the time (eg. morning, afternoon, night, etc.) but about the lighting condition. even in morning, u would not get the same lighting condition everyday, right? but i got your drift on what you are trying to say.

in my case, i seldom use flash in the morning. depends on the situation and what is the output that i want.

i have to agree with noru. being a lighting crazed shooter myself... i wont say if u do need it or not at any given time.

it should more like : what do you wanna achieve in order to let u make the decision on using the flash or not.

hehe ... i use flash all the time for close wide angle shots outside. very important for me to keep the background from overexposed especially at noon.
