He was standing in the corner leaning against a column - that's the green strip on the left.

Well this is good portrait with good eye contact. Composition wise, would be better if you include the whole triangular coat collar and not frame the green wall you mentioned on the left side of the photo. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Thank you Alan. Yeah that's quite a lot of wall there on the right but I didn't want to centralise is face ... I liked the way his shadow softly falls on the wall ... so I gave it room to fade off :)

Yes it does help, Thanks! Anyway, he was posing for some others standing much more to his right with the corner of the column growing out of his head. When they finished I mentioned that to him, he moved a little & this was what I got:

Yeah, including the full lapel would've been nice. Unfortunately, me no hotshot & cannot direct him lah to move more away from the tiang. Will bear in mind ... if I get another chance
