Asking on behalf of my friend. He is looking for a used camera as a beginner.
Which one is better? D100 or D70/70s? What are the pro and cons. Hope Nikon user in SA can provide a better opinion since I'm not using a Nikon.
Thanks in advance.
for beginner, D70s
if possible D50.
D100 cannot use CLS systems. 1/4000 top S/speed. Max Flash sync 1/180.
D70/D70s CLS compatible. 1/8000 Top S/speed. Max Flash sync 1/500.

Besides the optional vertical handgrip, there's nothing really much that could differentiate D100 and D70/s and for some features, D70/s really is better than D100. D70/s is cheaper and thus it'll give you more bang for the buck.

"Overall however it's fair to say that the D70 is a fairly significant step forward in image sharpness and detail from the D100."
Hope this helps. :)

I'd say D70s is better, or possibly even D50.

100% more to D70/70s ... BTW, what is CLS? Thanks
CLS = Nikon's Creative Lighting System.
