The statue is composed of granite and stands 8.7 meters high weighing 10 tons. The legend is that a beautiful fairy maiden fell in love with a young fisherman. He believed some fabricated rumors and asked the girl for the bracelet she wore as proof of her love. Although she knew she would die if the bracelet were removed from her body, she still took it off and presented it to show her deep lovefor him. The girl died and the fisherman was bitterly remorseful, crying all day and all night. An Immortal named Jiuzhou Elder was moved by their love and helped the young man resuscitate the girl. They offered this huge precious pearl to their benefactor during their marriage ceremony as a token of their appreciation for his kindness.

Great shots Stanley, love the colours and love the composition.

The sea wasn't the best looking thing in the world but the skies took those thoughts away. :D

Which month was this taken in? I just came back from there and its overcast skies mainly.

U forgot to mention Lotus Road, where the sweet young ladies will tug your shirt and say: "Mr, Mr, u want to take me home?" in Mandarin.

That aside, I see great potential in this city. Majority of locals speak Cantonese but because of the influx of Chinese from other provinces, a lot of funny Cantonese is often heard. Or to be safe, just use Mandarin.

The seafood is great and cheap. So are the hotels which are 1/2 or 1/3 cheaper compared to Macau just across the border station. It makes sense to stay here, do a day tour of Macau and then come back to this city to sleep.

The only thing I know about Zuhai is that it has a racing track and I've seen some races at the track, from TV of course. But now I see the town as well. Thanks. :)

Is the water really that brown in the first pic or is that an effect of too much saturation? :D
